Fashion Show in Jaltemba Bay is a ‘Win-Win’ for Everyone

Originally the brain child of a group of women golfers, the Mujeres a Mujeres Fashion Show (also known as the Jaltemba Bay Fashion Show) has grown into a major charity fundraiser in the Riviera Nayarit area.

The 9th Annual Mujeres a Mujeres Fashion Show takes place on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in an extraordinary new location — Hacienda La Peñita, home of American designer Thomas Bartlett. The beautiful garden setting alone makes it worth the $300 pesos price, which also includes a luncheon and the viewing of fashions created by a select group of Jaltemba Bay designers.

Bob and Linda Gibbs share the emcee position for the event. Owners of Casita de la Peñita, they’ve been part of the organizing committee for years. “I appreciate the chance to give back to the community,” says Linda. “The Fashion Show supports wonderful causes and is also a truly local event.”

Tickets for Fiesta 2012 – A Taste of Jaltemba / Sabor a Jaltemba Available This Thursday

Fiesta 2012 will be held on Saturday, March 10 from 3 pm until midnight at the Salon de Eventos – Real de Peña - formerly known as La Cancha de Futbol.
 

Tickets are only 100 pesos per person. The event will feature a range of local musicians and other entertainers and some great food and drink. Food and drink are extra, of course. If you have ever been to a ”Taste” event up north, you know how much fun they can be – sampling food from different establishments. If you haven´t, this is a great opportunity to try one – Mexican style.
 

Tickets will be available at - El Panorama, Hamaca Maya, Hidden Paradise, Los Compadres and Xaltemba Restaurant in La Peñita and at Latitude 21 and Matejas in Guayabitos. They will also be available at the Los Amigos booth at the tianguis every Thursday and from many members of Los Amigos and the La Peñita Citizens Actions Committee.
 

Fiesta 2012 is an initiative of Los Amigos de Jaltemba, the Citizens Action Committee of La Peñita and the Municipal Delegation. Proceeds will go to support the many initiatives of Los Amigos – our plastics recycling program, scholarships for needy students, construction and maintenance projects at local schools and, our newest initiative, the creation of a resource centre for teachers to help improve the quality of education in our community.
