LETTER FROM THE HOWELL FAMILLY The family of Bob Howell would like to address all of the ugly rumors and my father’s estate. We would like go on record as saying that at this time they are just “THAT” rumors. Every community has them and rumors can be damaging for life, even if they are not true. Until proven otherwise, we encourage the community to refrain from negative opinions and gossip. We are ecstatic to inform all of you that Dad left $30,000.00 USA to form a foundation to continue his sprit of giving and support for the poor, and to further show his love for the love of Mexico and his paradise. The name we are told is the R.H. Macibben foundation. As in his monument at the cemetery, we are sure it was meant to be R.H. McKibben, his mother’s maiden name. However, we feel this name is a discredit to our father’s works over the last years and are requesting two changes. ThThe family, out of respect for our father, would like to see it as “The Roberto Howell Fund”, as that is the name that is so recognize throughout the community and on the internet. 2) We are asking that this fund, which Vicky Flores has control of, be turned over to the new foundation that is being created at this time and be a sub-fund in the foundation. This foundation is being created by Sue and Del Moss and Bill and Dot Bell. They both have experience in this field and we do know that Sue has managed foundations that handled millions of dollars. They have promised the Howell family that there will be administrators to the foundation and reports will be published on a regular basis. We feel this is a win, win situation with all the experience they bring to the table. All are permanent residents of the community and are sensitive to the needs of the community. We feel that my father’s donation will be properly managed and they are committed to his spirit of continued support for the poor and the community. Therefore, we are asking Vicky Flores to voluntarily distribute our father’s donation to this new foundation. We are also calling on Roberto Gil De Montes as a mediator once again and encourage Vicky Flores to make this happen for the good of the community. Sincerely David Howell
