Galería X altemba Presents
“The Golden Aura” Sculptures and Paintings by
Reception for the Artist Friday December 7, 20077 - 9 pm Cocktail in the Gallery and Upstairs Lounge Performance by Carla Viviana González Lara Free David Delgadillo is a restless artist who searches for the spiritual in the secret areas of the human body, he paints lines and circles that form mandalas in golden surfaces. The body becomes the container for the universe. Galería Xaltemba is proud to present his work from December 7th to the 27th. Cocktail for the artist is Friday, December 7th from 7 to 9 pm. With a performance by Carla Viviana Gonzalez Lara. Golden bodies, chakras, mysticism, energy, David’s work reminds us that the human body reflects and absorbs the cosmology of the universe. The body chakras rotate and pulsate as if they were planets in orbit and from inside the body they expose, open and close. The human body as a transitory vessel, it transforms and extinguishes itself like the stars in space. The body has been painted gold for adoration, to always be alive, to become indestructible, to make it immortal so that it will be reborn. History is filled with sculptures of bodies golden and not, adorned and abhorred. David Delgadillo’s sculptures are golden, like Buddha's in the Katmandu mountains of Nepal, the chakras are Tibetan mandalas, points of mediation, and points of departure. An aura is something that can’t be easily seen, to see an aura you need to be gifted with extraordinary powers or need to use technologically advanced photography. The aura is an invisible space of luminous radiation. The colors of the aura define the energy and the physical state of the human body. It is said that the aura is a representation of the vibrations of the soul, and harmonious attributes to reflect on the moods or thoughts of the person, their true internal state of being. Just like the phenomenon of the paranormal, the existence of the aura is controversial. David Delgadillo gives his sculptures energy and they vibrate to become eternal beings.

Los Amigos de La Penita General Meeting
Jaltemba Foundation in the Works A working committee announced today plans to create the Jaltemba Foundation and wants to share this information with the public. The Committee is inviting the public to attend an Information Session poolside at Hacienda Del Mar, Av Sol Nuevo #39, Rincon de Guayabitos (beside the Bridge for Life) on Monday December 10th at 10am. Coffee will be served. A short presentation will be followed by their regular weekly meeting. “We are very excited about the creating a lasting legacy for the community,” says Dorothy Bell one of the founding members. “We have big plans and are diligently working towards setting up the legal and accounting frameworks in Mexico, Canada and the US to make this a reality.” The committee formed in early September and agreed that one of the main objectives of the Jaltemba Community Foundation will be to assist sustainable projects through an endowment. Sue Moss, one of the lead organizers emphasizes that the Jaltemba Foundation is being organized for charitable and educational purposes and that the committee is developing it in a transparent and legal manner. “We want to help support innovative and visionary projects,” says Moss “and to do that we are creating the legal body that will have the proper accounting checks and balances for the government and for the community we serve.” Currently the committee has developed a mission statement and bylaws to be the core of the Mexico, Canadian and US foundation requirements. They have short-listed potential lawyers and accountants and they have the funds available to work their way through the labyrinth of paperwork. Ken Snyder, one of the lead proponents of a tri-country organization, is working with a group of accounting experts to help co-ordinate the framework. “We intend to make gift giving to our area tax deductable in each of the three countries and have the ability to apply and receive funds for specific projects from private, corporate and government sources. Individuals and loose-knit organizations just don’t have the capabilities.” The committee believes the Foundation will not compete with or replace existing organizations already in place. “There are wonderful individuals and organizations that are doing a great job in the community” says Bell. “We want to work with them and be able to facilitate methods to raise even more funds from outside sources for our community.” RSVP via Email: shmoss@mac.com Members of the Foundation that will be attending: Dorothy Bell Anna Ibbara Lucy Morelos Sue Moss Irianna Puentes Ken Snyder Glen Triplett Carole Thacker Last Day of Spay and Neuter Clinic in Lo De Marcos Today Friday DIRECTIONS: Turn at the main entrance to Lo de Marcos and go .6 miles to two blocks before the beach. Watch Your Pet's Health Animal Health: Jaltemba Bay Animal Rescue
Commonly know as Ehrlichia, related to Limes Disease, is very prevalent in Nayarit with animals. Ehrlichia is a tick borne disease which affects the blood cells. According to one vet in the area, almost every animal, especially street animals, have this disease. Blood tests, administered in Puerto Vallarta, are required to positively diagnose this disease. We have had problems in one of our spay and neuter clinics with Ehrlichia as the blood thins and does not clot, hence problems during recovery after surgery. Look for signs of lethargy, eye infection, lethargy, loss of interest in food, and a gradual loss of body condition especially evident around the eyes and along the spine. Other symptoms are: viral tumors on the face/mouth/muzzle, hemorrhaging even when blood count looks normal, clotting problems, seizures, muscle wasting, skin infections, neurological signs (repetitive obsessive actions, or palsy), diarrhea, urine too alkaline, vomiting, hyper reflective eyes, bleeding from the nose or eyes, arthritis, weakness, pallor, incontinence, pneumonia, cough, kidney failure, increased thirst and urination, incoordination, bleeding under the skin or a rash (purpura), swelling of the legs or joints. (Infosheet by Lynda Adame) If you wish more detailed information, here are two of the many webpages which I have found useful about Ehrlichia: http://www.greyhoundlist.org/ehrlichia_infosheet. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=2103 Good news: Tetracycline and Doxicycline (at variable treatment lengths) have a 98% success rate at curing dogs of Ehrlichiosis.! Attached are photos of Chiquita who was diagnosed during our last clinic with Ehrlichia. Her symptoms were lethargy, infection (yellow fluid) around her eyes, not eating, not drinking, sad, loss of body weight. We thought we might lose her. If your pet is ill and displays and of these signs, do get a blood test to check for Ehrlichia. In the first photo, Mica and Darrel, her foster care parents are trying to get her electrolytes up by force feeding Pedialyte from a bottle. The second photo is Chiquita, resting after her fluids. After her treatment of Doxicycline, she is recovering but still waiting results from her blood tests. The prognosis is positive! This cute little dog showed up outside the gate of a home in Zona Residencial. It's a mixed colored wire-haired dog, about 12" tall. The dog is house trained and answers to commands in English. Very sweet and friendly. If the owner isn't found, this dog it will be adopted out.
Moti - a beautiful female cat. The owner had too many cats and Moti was being left out. Moti was spayed at one of our first Los Ayala clinics.
